Our Story
I'm Irene, I created BellaMoon when I first became a mother because I wanted to solve a real problem experienced by new mothers throughout the world.
Welcome to the BellaMoon™ Family!
I'm Irene and I am so glad your here. Originally from the West of Ireland, I grew up on a small hard-working farm surrounding by 5 other siblings. I now live in a small village in Northern Ireland with my husband and my 3 little girls.
We love spending time together (until someone throws a tantrum). My husband and I work hard juggling parent-life with full-time work, school and hobbies. At the weekends, we love to get outside and walk, release the tension and breathe in the outdoor air, whilst trying to avoid the Irish weather.
BellaMoon™ office and warehouse is just a 1 mile commute from our home (making family life that little bit more manageable) where we have an amazing team who put so much thought and care into every aspect of BellaMoon.
BellaMoon™ was never something I had planned to create - it was simply a case of trying to solve my own problem and good timing. I created BellaMoon™ based on my experience as a first-time Mother. As a very active person during the day, at night my body desperately wanted to lie down and rest comfortably.
I used the skills I learned from my career in Architecture to design BellaMoon™. Its shape is ergonomically designed to support your naturally tired love-laden limbs - a space designed to enjoy these most precious moments of life with intense comfort.
The beautifully unique, sophisticated and colourful patterns of BellaMoon are designed to capture the heart of a Mother, to speak to her own identity, before she merges herself with another little human on this wonderful journey of Motherhood.
I created BellaMoon™ to support what I believe to be the most precious time of a woman's life. BellaMoon™ was born of Love.
Design
I started designing the products I wanted to see in the world and I did this with an uncompromising approach to sustainability and a meticulous attention to the very finest of details.
As a mother, I want to help protect the world my kids will grow into. That’s why I have consciously created the BellaMoon® range to be super kind to the environment. BellaMoon® has been designed to passed from one Mother to another with our range of replacement covers.
We also purposely delivery our Pregnancy Pillow products vacuum packed in recycled plastic, so we don’t waste everyone’s resources shipping air.
Together with all of our conscious efforts, you can enjoy your BellaMoon® safe in the knowledge that we are taking care of the environment for you.
We take pride in having the highest quality manufacturing processes, particularly during this time of a global pandemic.
BellaMoon is produced in a factory with a dedicated production line containing one automatic cutting line, three automatic sewing lines and an inspection and packing line.
We have taken extra precautions to ensure our products are produced in a clean workshop. Our manufacturer goes above and beyond our needs by producing BellaMoon in a GMP (Good Management Practise) certified factory which meets full compliance for the code for design of a pharmaceutical industry clean room (GB 50457-2008)
On top of this, our manufacturer meets the human ecological requirements for Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX.
They also fulfil the requirements for REACH (colourants, nickel release, lead in baby products) CPSIA, BSCI and GOTS – the highest standard you can achieve.
